Come avevamo detto precedentemente, la passione delle ricamatrici e quella delle merlettaie si trasmette anche attraverso l’arte del poetare.
Nel sito Hooked On Stri in lingua inglese, ho trovato questa poesia dedicata all’uncinetto.
Una poesia che ci descrive come le merlettaie si riuniscono prima di Natale per terminare gli ultimi lavori.

‘Twas the night before Christmas and all around me
There was unfinished crocheting not under the tree,
The stockings weren’t hung by the chimney with care
‘Cause the heels and the toes had not a stitch there.
The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
But I had not finished the caps for their heads.
Dad was asleep—he was no help at all.
And the sweater for him was 6″ too small.
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I put down my hook to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash.
Tripped over my yarn and fell down in my stash.
The tangle of yarn that lay deep as the snow
Reminded me how far I still had to go.
When out on the lawn I heard such a noise,
I was sure it would wake up both Dad and the boys.
And although I was tired–my brain a bit thick,
I knew in a moment that it must be St Nick.
Yet what I heard left me very perplex-ed
For nothing I heard was what I expect-ed.
“Move Rowan! Move Patons! Move Koigu and Clover!
Move Shelridge! Move Starmore! Move Spinrite! Move over!
Lopi, don’t circle around, just stand there in line.
Pay attention you sheep and you’ll work out just fine!
I know this is hard as it’s just your first year
But I’d hate to go back to 8 tiny reindeer.”
I peered over the sill. What I saw was amazing:
Eight wooly sheep on my lawn all a-grazing!
And then in a twinkle, I heard at the door
Santa’s big boots stomping on the porch floor.
I rose from my knees and got back on my feet.
As I turned around, St Nick I did meet.
He was dressed all in wool from his heat to his toe
And his clothes were hand crochet from above to below.
A bright Fair Isle sweater he wore on his back.
And his toys were all stuffed in an Aran crochet sack.
His hat was a wonder of bobbles and lace
A beautiful frame for his rosy red face.
The scarf on his neck could have stretched for a mile,
And the socks peeking over his boots were Argyle.
On the back of his mitts was an intricate cable.
And suddenly on one I spotted a small label:
“S.C.” in duplicate on the cuff.
So I asked, “Hey, Nick, did YOU crochet all this stuff?”
He proudly replied, “Ho, ho, ho, yes I did.
I learned how to crochet when I was just a kid.”
He was chubby and plump, a well dressed old man,
And I laughed to myself, for I’d thought up a plan.
I flashed him a grin and jumped up in the air,
And the next thing he knew, he was tied to a chair.
He spoke not a word, but looked down in his lap
Where I had laid my crochet hook and yarn for a cap.
He began then to crochet, first one cap then 2–
For the first time I thought I might really get through.
He put heels in the stockings and toes in some socks,
While I sat back drinking a scotch on the rocks.
Quickly like magic his hooks they flew,
Good Grief! He was finished by two!
He sprang for his sleigh when I let him go free,
And over his shoulder he looked back at me.
I heard him explain as he sailed past the moon,
“Next year, start your crocheting sometime around JUNE!”

Attraverso l'utilizzo di un telaietto di metallo, acquistabile in merceria o su HobbydonnaStore , è possibile realizzare dei moduli floreali in lana o cotone per realizzare sciarpe, applicazioni, coperte, plaid e copriletti, borse, cinture e tanti altri accessori.
Seguendo le istruzioni e le spiegazioni video potrete anche voi apprendere questa tecnica e realizzare ciò che desiderate.
Materiale:
– Telaietto di Metallo
– Lana o Cotone
– Ago con punta arrotondata
– Uncinetto
– Forbici
Iniziate il lavoro direttamente dal capo del gomitolo, senza tagliare prima il filo.

Dopo aver creato sul telaietto sia la trama che l'ordito, lasciate circa 1m del filo utilizzato e tagliate il rimanente.

Inserite il capo del filo nella cruna dell'ago e iniziate la seconda parte del lavoro: prendete 4 fili dalla trama e 4 dall'ordito e create attorno un punto anellato in maniera tale da stringere bene i fili e creare il fiorellino.

Una volta creati tanti moduli uniteli insieme con l'uncinetto attraverso delle maglie bassissime e catenelle.

L’arte dell’uncinetto non è semplicemente un arte manuale ma è anche un modo divertente per esercitare la nostra memoria. Contare i punti delle maglie eseguite, leggere e seguire lo schema con le istruzioni, essere regolari nell’eseguire le catenelle, sono dei passi davvero importanti per la realizzazione di un lavoro davvero perfetto.
Quì di seguito troverete alcune istruzioni per inizare una presina rotonda all’uncinetto.
Inizio della presina:

– Avviare 4 catenelle e chiuderle in tondo.
Primo Giro:
– Eseguire all’interno del circolino creato 8 maglie basse
Secondo Giro:
– Eseguire 16 maglie basse (la base delle 16 maglie basse sarà le 8 maglie eseguite nel primo giro), quindi due maglie in ognuna delle maglie basse.
Terzo Giro:
– eseguire 24 maglie basse: una maglia bassa e due maglie basse nella seguente.

June continua a sorprenderci con le sue creazioni invernali .
Ecco una Stella di Natale in stile amigurumi: i petali e le foglie sono state lavorate all'uncinetto con delle semplici maglie basse. Dopo averle terminate singolarmente sono state unite in maniera tale da formare questo bellissimo fiore.

Dopo aver eseguito la catenella , puntare l'uncinetto nel penultimo punto.
Mettere il filo sull'uncinetto e farlo scorrere attraverso i 2 punti sull'uncinetto.
Puntare l'uncinetto nella catenella seguente e ripetere il passaggio.

Ecco come iniziare un lavoro all’uncinetto;
Il punto catenella è fondamentale per eseguire qualsiasi lavoro all’uncinetto;
Tenere l’estremità del filo tra il pollice e l’indice della mano sinistra;
Passare sopra l’indice e avvolgerle il filo attorno al mignolo;
Prendere l’uncinetto fra il pollice e l’indice della mano destra, portarlo dietro al filo, formare un anello ruotando il filo e l’uncinetto in senso antiorario;
Tenere l’anello ottenuto tra il pollice e l’indice,
Mettere il filo sull’uncinetto e farlo scorrere attraverso l’anello stesso, ottenendo un punto.
Così si presenta il primo punto sull’uncinetto.

Un elegante polsino realizzato all’uncinetto da Alicia Kachmar .
Si tratta di tre quadrati realizzati all’uncinetto, uniti tra di loro con delle catenelle, con la lana di due colori diversi ma con tonalità molto simile.
Vi ricordo che Alicia è stata una dei vincitori del nostro concorso Stitch N’ Pitch con il suo originalissimo copri birra all’uncinetto.

Sembrerebbe una foto scattata nel fantastico mondo della natura marina e invece…
Si tratta di una vera e propria opera d'arte eseguita all'uncinetto.
L’Istituto For Figuring sta realizzando all’uncinetto una bellissima barriera corallina come un omaggio alla più Grande Barriera Corallina del mondo che è sotto la minaccia del riscaldamento globale e delle sostanze inquinanti agricole.
Essi descrivono il progetto come “una celebrazione lanosa dell’intersezione tra geometria e artigianato femminile”. Questo progetto è veramente interessante e non potete trascurarlo se siete interessati all’uncinetto iperbolico.
L’uncinetto iperbolico è una tecnica che è stata sviluppata dalla matematica Daina Taimina.

Incredibile…ma vero!
Una Ferrari eseguita interamente a maglia lascia sorpresi tutti gli spettatori della mostra Knitting and Stitching di Londra.
18 Km di filo lavorato all'uncinetto da Lauren Porter che per la sua tesi di laurea ha pensato di creare Una splendida Ferrari.
Un lavoro durato 11 mesi, la preziosa Ferrari è stata costruita su un telaio di cavi e acciaio. "Finora avevo ricoperto all'uncinetto solo oggetti di arredamento, ma avevo voglia di misurarmi con qualcosa di più importante", ha spiegato Lauren allo sbigottito inviato di "Quattroruote".
Il prezzo? È da stabilire, Lauren aspetta offerte per capire che cosa può valere quest'oggetto più unico che raro, accanto al quale posa orgogliosa per i visitatori del Salone.
